Gwynn Holladay, First Grade
Ms. Holladay received a BA degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education from NLU (ULM) in Monroe. She then went on complete and Master’s Plus 30 in Elementary Education from Centenary College. She has taught school for 33 years.
Her hobbies include baking, gardening, and travel. She has a large close-knit family and is blessed to have both parents together for 64 years. Her philosophy is to always do the right thing, work to the best of her ability, and show others she cares. She loves teaching children! In her younger years, she even taught riflery!
My name is Shannon Southwell. I am a “military brat” so I’ve been quite a few places, but I’ve spent most of my years here in Louisiana. I have a bachelor’s in Elementary Education and a master’s in Educational Leadership. I started teaching in 2009 and have taught grades 1, 2, and 3, all in Caddo Parish. I enjoy dancing, art, and music (although I am only a good singer in the car or shower)! I have 2 children who keep me on my toes, but I love every minute of it! I look forward to many great years serving the families of Arthur Circle.
Mona Tyer, First Grade Mrs. Tyer received her BA degree in Elementary Education from Louisiana College. She has been teaching since 1994 and is certified to teach Pre-K through eighth grade. She has taught Pre-K, Kindergarten, First Grade and ECSE.
In her free time, she enjoys learning more about Jesus, going to church, exploring new towns, hiking and spending time with her husband, family, and friends.
Her favorite quote about children is Billy Graham….” A child who is allowed to be disrespectful to his parents will not have true respect for anyone.”
