Carla Preiss, Second Grade
Mrs. Preiss was born and raised in upstate New York, ten miles from the Canadian border. After high school, she entered the Air Force and met her husband. They have been married for 31 years and have two sons. During her time in the Air Force, she was able to go many places. They lived in Hawaii before coming to Louisiana. She received her Bachelor’s Degree from LSUS and has been teaching for 11 years. She also earned her National Board for Professional Teaching Standards Certification in Literacy in 2008. Mrs. Preiss is currently working on her Master’s Degree at LSUS in the area of Curriculum and Instruction in Reading.
Any extra time she has is spent with her family. She enjoys working jigsaw puzzles, sudoku, and kakuro puzzles. Mrs. Preiss’ sons attended Arthur Circle. She loves the school and the great students, faculty, and staff. Go Cougars!
Mr. Walker, a 2nd-grade teacher, has a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology and a Master’s degree in Education, both from Louisiana Tech University. This is his sixth year teaching 2nd grade.
He is married to Angelina Walker. They have a son, Langston. Mr. Walker’s family currently resides in Indianapolis, IN. He is the only member of his family that lives in Louisiana. His hobbies include playing for the Shreveport Men’s Lacrosse Team, mountain biking, and fishing.
Chelsea Stowe, Second Grade
Ms. Stowe grew up in a small town in East Texas with her mom, dad, cousin, grandma, and grandpa. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Texas in 2006 and received her certification in Elementary Education and English as a Second Language in 2015.
She is currently in her 5th year of teaching in Caddo Parish and loves every minute of it! She absolutely loves working with children and enjoys those teachable moments that allow students to grow.
She currently lives in Shreveport with her fiancé, Jesse, and their three fur babies Thief, Gypsy, and Jackie.
When she is not teaching she enjoys traveling, watching movies, shopping, having fun with her family and heading to the gym.
She looks forward to continuing her growth as an educator and enriching the lives of students!
