Michael Carroway, Physical Education
Coach Carroway has been teaching for 22 years in Caddo Parish. He received his degree from LSU-S. Outside of school, Coach Carroway can be found hunting, fishing, and watching football. He is looking forward to another great school year at Arthur Circle!
Vanessa Ortiz, Art
Mrs. Ortiz is our Art Teacher at Arthur Circle. She is married and has 2 daughters. Mrs. Ortiz has a degree in Graphic Design/Interior Design from LSU and a degree in Art Education from LSUS.
Mrs. Ortiz’s experience includes positions as a Graphic Designer, Art Educator at Centenary College Meadows Museum, and Art Teacher at Lakeshore Elementary prior to becoming a valued member of Arthur Circle’s faculty.
Mrs. Ortiz loves Artbreak and enjoys submitting wonderful art in local contests on behalf of Arthur Circle students. Her hobbies include shopping, watching movies, traveling to various art exhibits, and teaching Summer Art camps.
Mrs. Howard was raised in Shreveport and attended Caddo Parish Schools before graduating with a BA in Fashion Merchandising from Louisiana Tech. She received her Elementary Teaching Certification with a Specialization in English from Sam Houston University. She taught for 10 years as a classroom teacher. She has completed her Master’s degree in Library Science and has been a librarian for 8 years. Mrs. Howard enjoys getting students excited about reading and assisting them in becoming independent users of information literacy. Her goal is to foster a lifelong love of learning with all of her students.
She and her husband are the proud parents of one daughter. They have two sweet Maltipoo pups that keep them company. In her spare time, she loves reading, shopping, visiting with family and friends, traveling, and church activities. She feels so blessed to be at Arthur Circle Elementary!
Mr. Johnson was born in Shreveport, Louisiana, but spent part of his childhood in Okinawa, Japan. He also lived in Anchorage, Alaska before moving back to Louisiana. He grew up in Haughton, Louisiana.
He holds a Bachelors Degree in Music Education K-12 from Northwestern State University in 2014. He loves kids. This is his 3rd year teaching. He is glad Arthur Circle was his first school to teach at. He says it has been a great experience. He plans to stay here for many years; as long as God allows it.
In his spare time, he serves many different churches in the capacity of worship leading. He loves singing and leading worship from the piano. Other than that, He spends a lot of time with his wife at home or hanging out with friends.
