Coach CarrowayMichael Carroway, Physical Education

Coach Carroway has been teaching for 21 years in Caddo Parish.  He received his degree from LSU-S.  Outside of school, Coach Carroway can be found hunting, fishing, and watching football.  He is looking forward to another great school year at Arthur Circle!

 

 

Mrs. OrtizVanessa Ortiz, Art

Mrs. Ortiz is our Art Teacher at Arthur Circle.  She is married and has 2 daughters, Samantha who attends LSU-S and Carmen who graduated from the Parsons School of Design in NYC last May.  Mrs. Ortiz has a degree in Graphic Design/Interior Design from LSU and a degree in Art Education from LSUS.

Mrs. Ortiz’s experience includes positions as a Graphic Designer, Art Educator at Centenary College Meadows Museum, and Art Teacher at Lakeshore Elementary prior to becoming a valued member of Arthur Circle’s faculty.  Mrs. Ortiz loves Artbreak and enjoys submitting wonderful art in local contests on behalf of Arthur Circle students.  Her hobbies include shopping, watching movies, traveling to various art exhibits, and teaching Summer Art camps.


Howard_Lisa_151 2015Lisa Parker Howard, Librarian

Mrs. Howard was raised in Shreveport and attended Caddo Parish Schools before graduating with a BA in Fashion Merchandising from Louisiana Tech. She received her Elementary Teaching Certification with a Specialization in English from Sam Houston University.  She taught for 10 years as a classroom teacher.   She has completed her Master’s degree in Library Science and has been a librarian for 7 years.  Mrs. Howard enjoys getting students excited about reading and assisting them in becoming independent users of information literacy.  Her goal is to foster a lifelong love of learning with all of her students.

She and her husband are the proud parents of one daughter, Amanda, who is a Texas A&M Biomedical Engineering graduate and is a recruiter for Google! They have two sweet Maltipoo pups that keep them company. In her spare time, she loves reading, shopping, visiting with family and friends, traveling, and church activities.  She feels so blessed to be at Arthur Circle Elementary!

 

Mr. Johnson, Music

Mr. Johnson was born in Shreveport, Louisiana, but spent most of his childhood in another country. Okinawa, Japan to be specific because of his parent’s military background. He also lived in Anchorage, Alaska for a year before moving back here to Louisiana. Most of his life has been spent here. He grew up in Haughton, Louisiana. He went through the bossier parish school system, eventually graduating from Haughton High School in 2009. He holds a Bachelors Degree in Music Education K-12 from Northwestern State University in 2014. He loves kids. This is his second year teaching.  He is glad Arthur Circle was his first school to teach at; It has been a great experience. He plans to stay here for many years; as long as God allows it. In his spare time, he serves many different churches in the capacity of worship leading. He really loves singing and leading worship from the piano. Other than that, He spends a lot of time with his wife at home or hanging out with friends. He is newly married to his wonderful wife, Nicole. They currently have no kids; but plan to eventually.
